Objective

Over 842 million people suffer from chronic hunger. That means 1 in 8 people do not have enough to eat almost every day. Yet this chronic hunger often goes unseen. It is an invisible, day-to-day condition.

According to the United Nations, "Good progress was made in reducing chronic hunger in the 1980s and the 1990s, but progress began to level off between 2000 and 2010".

Hunger is often the result of poverty and leads to disease, and death.

Our objective is to eliminate world hunger and take back the lives of 842 million people.

How This Works

When sufficient funds are raised, the Student Committee will open a grant. Charities devoted to world hunger can submit an application to receive the grant. The students and Student Committee of Hogwarts will rank the applications and award the grant to the charity with the highest vote.
